We went to the Manlius memorial day parade this morning with the cute old folks from the place that we do service at. It was great. We really make a difference in someone's life every single day. It is such a unique opportunity to be a missionary. Every day you work your hardest for someone else. For your love of God-- our Heavenly Father, for His Son, Jesus Christ and for everyone else who needs to know them. Every day we make a difference. It is such a fulfilling life and I am definitely going to miss it, but so grateful for all the time that I have left! This week has been full of hard work! We are trying to find many people to teach. We were knocking on doors Monday night and we got let into the cutest old couple's door. They weren't interested but they were so nice and let us share a little and gave us a list of places to go to find service opportunities. Then on Tuesday, we found a new investigator! :)
Her name is Joannah! She is amazing!! The sisters had knocked on her door and gave her a Book of Mormon a long time ago and we went back and tried her again! She is amazing!!! :) She was busy and hasn't read any of it yet but she let us in to tell her what it is about. She said "I have 5 minutes while I do my dishes" So we shared the message in 5 minutes!! It was soo powerful! :) She is amazing and excited to know if it is true for herself. :)
Heather!!! So Heather came to the church in Syracuse when I was serving there and she was interested in getting baptized and joining the church! We were so excited and then found out that she lived in Manlius.. which was not in the Syracuse ward boundaries. So we sent her to the missionaries in Manlius.. well. now I live in Manlius! And Heather is still not baptized!! We got to see her this week and when we saw each other again I gave her a huge hug and then said "Why aren't you baptized yet!?" and she said, "I don't know"... So she is getting baptized on June 24!! :) haha!! It was just that easy! We are so excited for her!!
This week has been amazing! I love being a missionary and seeing that truly "the tender mercies of the Lord" are really there for all of us! I have been reading the Book of Mormon in 3 Nephi and it has been amazing I have grown so much closer to my Savior this week. I love this work! I know that this gospel is true and I am so grateful for it!
Have a great week! :) Love you all!!
